Description

Expand your small office’s network capacity by using the Instant On 1930 24-Port Gigabit Managed Switch with 10Gb SFP+ from Aruba to connect computers, network attached storage, and other high-bandwidth devices. This rack-mountable smart managed switch features 24 Gigabit Ethernet ports with a 128 Gb/s switching capacity and a 95.23 Mpps forwarding capacity powered by an 800 MHz ARM Cortex-A9 processor, 512MB RAM, and 256MB of flash storage with a 1.5MB packet buffer. There are also four 10Gb SFP+ ports available that support fiber line uplinks and other connections that carry data across greater distances than copper lines. With its fanless design, the Instant On 1930 is built to quietly blend into almost any environment. Additionally, the switch includes a suite of security controls that allow greater control over network access, configured using the web-based application or downloadable mobile app.

High-Speed Ports

This managed switch includes 24 Gigabit Ethernet ports and four 10Gb SFP+ fiber ports.

Fast Data Processing

The Aruba Instant On 1930 managed switch is powered by an 800 MHz ARM Cortex-A9 processor with 512MB of RAM, and 256MB flash storage with a 1.5MB packet buffer. It features a 128 Gb/s switching capacity and a 95.23 Mpps forwarding capacity.

Network Management

  • Cloud-hosted web interface management for entire network.
  • Firmware update notifications with schedulable updates.
  • Default DHCP client mode allows for plug-and-play operation when connecting the switch directly to the network.
  • Port mirroring automatically sends traffic on a port or VLAN to a network analyzer for monitoring.
  • Event logging and alerts provide detailed information for problem identification and troubleshooting.
  • Administrators can add, modify, delete and transfer management accounts and passwords for secure access.
  • Users can set a locator LED on a specific switch to turn on, blink, or turn off, making them easy to spot for troubleshooting.

Quality of Service (QoS)

  • Traffic prioritization provides time-sensitive packets such as VoIP and video with priority over other traffic based on DSCP or IEEE 802.1p classification.
  • IEEE 802.1p/Q VLAN tagging delivers data to devices based on the priority and type of traffic.
  • Class of Service features include setting the IEEE 802.1p/DSCP priority to queue mapping with support for strict priority queuing or weighted round robin queuing, across four queues, configurable on individual switch ports.
  • Advanced classifier based QoS classifies traffic using multiple match criteria based on Layer 2, 3, and 4 information.

Network Security

  • A Trusted Platform Module (TPM) enables secure, hardware-based generation and storage of cryptographic keys used for secure connections to the Instant On cloud portal.
  • This switch support for up to 256 VLANs with a VLAN ID range of 2-4093.
  • The Instant On 1930 allows network user authentication on a per port basis through RADIUS assigned VLAN, dynamic VLAN creation, guest VLAN, or an unauthenticated VLAN.
  • Automatic denial-of-service protection monitors network traffic for malicious attacks and works to block them.
  • Packet storm protection protects against unknown unicast, broadcast, and multicast storms with user-defined thresholds.
  • This switch includes RADIUS authentication with primary and backup server configurations in addition to accounting features for collecting attribute and statistical information from the switch.
  • Administrators are provided with secure management access in a specified VLAN.
  • The switch minimizes network disruptions by automatically detecting and disabling ports that experience link flap events.

Configurable Features

  • Static IPv4 routing for up to 32 static routes.
  • Auto-voice VLAN automatically recognizes IP phones and assigns the voice traffic to a dedicated VLAN.
  • A PoE scheduler allows you to define the hours of PoE power being supplied to a group of switch ports, with the ability to select individual days of a week and set reoccurrence on a weekly basis with a start and end date.
  • Create Access Control Lists (ACLs) to filter network traffic according to specified rules, with support for 50 inbound IPv4 and MAC ACLs with up to 480 ACEs.
  • The Instant On 1930 can be managed and deployed as an IPv6 host.
  • Set per-port traffic rate limits based on percentages or packets per second.
  • Dynamic ARP attack protection blocks ARP broadcasts from unauthorized hosts that may be trying to eavesdrop or steal of network data.
  • DHCP snooping provides network security by filtering untrusted DHCP messages.
  • Ports in a port isolation group are restricted from forwarding Layer 2 traffic between ports in that group for enhanced data privacy and security.
  • SCP (Secure Copy Protocol) and TFTP protocols allow for secure file transfers.
  • Create independent primary and secondary software images for backup while upgrading the network.
  • User account management tools allow you to check password strength and more to enhance security.
  • Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encrypts all HTTP traffic and secures access to the local browser-based management of the switch.
